Secrets Revealed
Art of Sugar Flowers is challenging in many respects. It takes a lot of time and patience and belief in yourself that your hands can actually make something that Mother Nature has been creating for millions of years. For passion and dedication to succeed, the right tools are imperative. My collection of colours, shapes, instruments and so many other things is endless, but yet it always seems incomplete, as the new ideas visit my imagination.
I believe that what we eat is one of the most important things in life, as that is what actually makes us live. I make my own Sugar Flower paste using a secret recipe that I learned from an Award Winning Sugar Flower Designer. It is not only perfect to use, easy to make, but also tastes so delicious.
Each petal is shaped individually with the right dimension, shape, thickness and texture of the flower. Once the petals have all be created, they must dry overnight. I must have may be 50 different colours, yet it never seems enough. To get the right shade, I usually combine 3 to 7 colours in order to achieve the natural look & feel of the real flower. When each petal is made, it must be assembled to shape the actual flower. The petals are very delicate so attention must be paid. Some flowers may have only 4 petals when others consist of over 30.
Each is unique and beautiful in its nature and design.
